Stockholm’s History — The Original Tour

A 5 km walk through Stockholm from year 1000 to today, with 3D animations of every site.

Stockholm is said to have been founded in 1252 and then developed into the capital of Sweden. This is the walking tour where you get to know the very purpose of the city while discovering all the city’s most important buildings and sites. See it as a historical discovery and sightseeing in one tour! The tour suits everyone: visitors to Stockholm, history buffs, families with children, after-work events, and everything in between.

The walk is 3.5 hours and 5 km (3.1 mi) long, has been organised for more than three years, received over 100 reviews (4.9/5 rating), and can therefore be adapted to meet your specific needs. At least one traditional Swedish fika stop is built in as a natural break in the middle of the tour. With completely unique 3D animations, we get a very good picture of the older Stockholm and its original environments.

The walk takes place from the year 1000 to the present day, and we will be able to:

  • See and analyse the most important sights in today’s Stockholm
  • See and analyse the original environment of the place, as if we were in it
  • See how and why the city grew the way it did
  • Understand why the city looks the way it does and why it developed here
  • Understand why the city eventually became the capital of Sweden
  • And much more!
