What we know about you.

We collect the minimum needed to run the site and handle bookings — privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics, no advertising trackers, no email marketing, and we never sell your data.

Who is responsible for your data

Scandinavian History Tours (org. nr 559123-4567), Köpmangatan 14, 111 31 Stockholm, Sweden, is the data controller (personuppgiftsansvarig) for the personal data described here. For any privacy question, email info@scandinavianhistorytours.com.

What we collect, why, and for how long

Booking details — your name, email, phone number (if you give it) and any notes. We use these to confirm and deliver your tour. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you (GDPR Art. 6.1.b). We keep them until your tour is done and any questions are settled; where a payment or receipt is involved, accounting records are kept for seven years as required by the Swedish Bookkeeping Act (bokföringslagen).

Your cookie choice — whether you accepted all cookies or essential only. Legal basis: your consent and our obligations under the e-privacy rules. Kept for six months. See our cookies page for the full list.

Server logs — your IP address, the page requested and your browser, kept by our host for security and uptime. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f) in keeping the site secure and available. Retained only briefly.

None of this is used for marketing or profiling, and we never sell it.

Who processes data on our behalf

We rely on a small set of providers, each under a data-processing agreement:

  • Vercel — website hosting and server logs.
  • Mapbox — the map tiles on each tour page (loads when the map opens).
  • Google / YouTube — only the videos you choose to play after accepting all cookies, via youtube-nocookie.com.

Some of these providers are based in the USA. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, the transfer relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your data, and object to how we use it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email info@scandinavianhistorytours.com from the address you booked with and we'll respond within one month.

Complaints

If you believe we've mishandled your personal data, please contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY) — imy.se.
